As activists, leaders, and social entrepreneurs in social justice arenas, we’re often not understood by much of the world and have to deal with a lot of opposition from those in the status quo.
That’s what makes it extra tough when those who are closest to us also don’t share our worldview, don’t support our work, or actually push back against these.
This installment of The Changemaker Sessions is about navigating your closer relationships as a changemaker.
We cover:
- ways to create an atmosphere for better understanding between you and someone close to you around your cause or mission
- determine if there are boundaries that need to be put into place and how to do that in a kind and constructive way
- how you can make the situation less triggering for both parties
Not only do we discuss approaches and strategies, but I also take you through some experiential exercises for creating a different energy around the relationships you’re most struggling with in terms of your activism.
