Meditation & Mindfulness for Changemakers

Free 4-Week Online Course

For changemakers, caring deeply can be both beautiful and brutal. When the world is on fire, it’s easy to get swept into overwhelm, anger, grief, and a nervous system that never quite gets to exhale.

But over time, these patterns can get in the way of cultivating the very love, health, connection, and joy within yourself needed to build a more just, compassionate, and healthy world.

This 4-week online meditation and mindfulness course is to help people who care deeply to strengthen their resilience, focus, and openheartedness — so they can remain effective through these wildly difficult times.

Led by coach for changemakers, mindfulness and meditation teacher, and long-time activist Kimberly Carroll, the program is designed to help you come back to yourself so you can show up in the world with more presence, calm and clarity.

Through guided practices, talks, and Q&A, we’ll explore the power of presence and the foundations of mindfulness and meditation in a way that feels accessible, practical, and relevant to folks with busy minds and heavy hearts.

You’ll get instruction on:

  • Loosening the grip of stress and anxiety
  • Breaking through mental clutter and distraction and find more focus and clarity
  • Working more skillfully with difficult emotions like anger, fear, and grief
  • Developing more compassion for yourself — and maybe even for some of the more challenging humans roaming the planet
  • Practices for feeling more present, connected, and alive

Not only will you learn mindfulness tools and forms of meditation to use in your daily life, but we’ll aim in each session to leave you feeling more grounded, relaxed, and resourced. Because while inner peace may not solve late-stage capitalism, it can help you meet this bonkers world with a little more sanity and a lot more steadiness

This course isn’t about becoming perfectly calm or transcending all problems. It’s about building the inner capacity to stay awake, open, and effective in a heartbreaking world. For anyone wanting to create change without burning out, numbing out, or losing your center, this course offers a powerful place to begin.

Hope you’ll join us!

This course is being offered free as part of Kimberly’s practicum to complete the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield through UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. The only requirement for registration is that you do your best to attend all four classes on Zoom (with your camera on for the most part) and complete a short post-course assessment form.
