
On Feb 7th, I launched The Changemaker Sessions with the theme of “Getting Out of Robot Mode“!
With our world in such an urgent state of trouble, our kneejerk reaction, as people trying to create change, can be to go into pure autopilot in an effort to buckle down and get things done as efficiently as possible.
Unfortunately, this robot mode of constant computing and doing comes at the expense of being connected to our bodies and feelings. We’re so busy managing our lives, we lose the ability to feel our lives.
Why robot-mode is such a HUGE problem…
To be a successful and enduring changemaker, we need to feel inspired, creative, passionate, and compassionate… much of which isn’t accessible if you’re just a walking head. :p
In this first session, we explored why being present and embodied is so integral for activists, social entrepreneurs, mission-driven leaders, or anyone trying to make this world a better place.
This is an area where I constantly have to stay vigilant, so this theme is really fresh and present for me.
Getting out of auto-pilot requires consistent tools
Also, in the session, I shared simple techniques, that I practice myself and teach my coachees, for getting out of the head and into the power of the body, what to do with the pain or overwhelm you might find there, and how to let your body become one of the biggest assets in your important work.

The Changemaker Sessions are FREE Zoom gatherings I lead every second Wednesday at 7pm ET. These are meant to be a place of deep (and fun!) learning, coaching, and community for you.
Each Changemaker Session hour will comprise of:
- a 45-minute talk/workshop on the night’s topic around becoming the most effective and enduring changemaker possible. Ie. mindset for dealing with conflict, building healthy self-relationship, productivity hacks, tools to prevent compassion fatigue, creating more space, working smarter, not harder, turning anger into constructive passion
- 30 minutes of Q&A and open coaching with participants. If you’re looking for guidance in your work, relationships, wellness, or other areas of your life, bring your queries to the session where I’ll be working with folks in real-time. There will also be an online document to put your questions into if you’re feeling a little shy about coaching one-on-one.
